How urbanization alienated children from the natural environment

I can always remember when I visited my grandparents home in the village where they lived, that the most beautiful thing was the corner of the garden they kept, with a variety of vegetables and fruit trees. They also had another smaller area designated exclusively for flowers. There were also other decorative plants like stand-alone trees as well as walnut, chestnut and other trees from which you could collect various delicious nuts.
